Our Mission
Ranken Jordan is one of only a handful of pediatric specialty hospitals nationwide that cares for both sick and seriously injured kids regardless of their ability pay. Due to income and insurance limitations, many children cannot receive the on-going therapy and medical treatment that is necessary to make a full recovery. These children are in transition between acute medical care facilities and home.

This is where we come in.

Since 1941, our accomplished teams of physicians, nurses, rehabilitation specialists, community leaders and volunteers have dedicated themselves to help those who are in the middle - too sick to go home, yet too well to stay in the hospital. These children need a little more time for therapy, more time to grow and get bigger, and more time with the modern medical technologies we have available today. Our individually designed programs are for children ages two weeks through 21 years who are suffering from:
  • Brain injuries
  • Burns
  • Tracheostomies
  • Cleft Palate
  • Cerebral Palsy
  • Seizure Disorders
  • Lead Intoxication
  • Premature Birth Complications
  • Obesity-Related Complications
  • Neuromuscular Diseases
  • Orthopedic Injuries
  • Speech Disorders
  • Environmental Deprivation
  • Oxygen/Ventilator Dependency
  • Paralysis

It is our goal for every child that first comes through our doors to one day see them leave both physically and emotionally stronger than they were when they first came in. In addition to physical care, Ranken Jordan also addresses the complex social and psychological issues that surround these illnesses. We provide intense training for the parents as well - helping them learn how to care for their children when they come home.
