Child and Adolescent Suicide Prevention
The goals of this presentation are to help caregivers recognize the risks and warning signs of suicide and mental health concerns, increase comfort talking with their children and teens about suicide and mental health, and to increase awareness of the availability of community resources to support these conversations and youth mental health.
Rachel Juehring is the inpatient psychologist at Ranken Jordan Pediatric Bridge Hospital. She works with chronic and acute medical conditions, including TBI, SCI, and other medical complexities. She has trained at University of Florida and Children’s Medical Center in Dallas and previously worked as the endocrine psychologist at St. Louis Children’s Hospital.
Claire Wallace is a pediatric psychologist at Ranken Jordan Pediatric Bridge Hospital who leads the hospital’s outpatient psychology service. She works with medically complex patients who come to the hospital for outpatient therapy or clinics. Much of her work involves co-treatment with physical, occupational, and speech therapists as well as physiatrists and GI physicians. She has worked at children’s hospitals in Cleveland, Columbus, and St. Louis.
