Dr. Dawn Andrew elected to Ranken Jordan’s Board of Directors

The board of directors for Ranken Jordan Pediatric Bridge Hospital has elected Dr. Dawn Andrew to its board. The 28-member board of directors governs the mission and direction of Ranken Jordan and ensures their commitment to giving kids the best chance for recovery.

Dr. Dawn Andrew is a retired pediatrician who spent 16 years practicing in Orlando, Fla. During her career, Dr. Andrew served as a private practitioner and spent six years as a founding member of the Pediatric Hospitalist Group at Nemours Children’s Hospital – Orlando. From 1998-2006, Dr. Andrew served as a teaching physician for the medical residency programs at the Arnold Palmer Children’s Hospital.

Dr. Andrew earned her Bachelor of Science in psychology and her medical degree from the University of Florida. In medical school, she was a published pediatric immunology research fellow with grants from the National Institute of Health and the American Cancer Society. Dr. Andrew completed her pediatric residency at the Arnold Palmer Children’s Hospital and Orlando Regional Medical Center. In her final year of residency, she was recognized as the Resident of the Year from among the 15 residency programs in the Orlando Regional system. While practicing, Dr. Andrew was a board-certified pediatrician with numerous awards and a recognized leader in patient care.

Growing up in New York, Dr. Lynda Brady was inspired by a family friend who was a general practitioner. “He had a huge influence on my life, and he really encouraged me to go into medicine,” says Dr. Brady. In middle school, she had landed on the idea of becoming a dentist. “Then around sixth grade, I thought, that’s gross.”
