Horticulture Therapy: Top 10 Sensory Plants

Sensory exploration of plants can provide a sense of calm, deepen our connection with nature and remind us to slow down and enjoy the details of plants. Jeanne Carbone from the Missouri Botanical Gardens joined us for a webinar highlighting the Therapeutic Horticulture team’s Top 10 Sensory Plants.

Presenter: Jeanne Carbone, Missouri Botanical Gardens Jeanne is the Supervisor of Therapeutic Horticulture at the Missouri Botanical Garden. She holds a certificate in Horticulture Therapy from Chicago Botanic Garden and has been involved in this work for 9+years. Her previous career was as a Special Education teacher, with 25 years of experience serving the educational needs of students with significant issues. She has a Master’s degree in Education with an emphasis on Outdoor Education. The common thread in all of her work has been a belief in the power of nature to improve lives and the well-being of all humans.
