Claire Wallace, PhD, is the lead pediatric psychologist at Ranken Jordan Pediatric Bridge Hospital. She supports the hospital’s youngest patients and their families as they navigate the challenges of child development and parenting in the context of medical complexity. She works closely with team members across the hospital to meet patient and family needs throughout their hospitalization journey.
As a pediatric psychologist, Dr. Wallace has specialized training to treat children with complex medical conditions. In addition to treating anxiety, depression, and behavior problems, she and the other pediatric psychologists at Ranken Jordan also are trained to help children with sleep, feeding, adherence, pain management, adjustment to illness, and trauma.
A St. Louis native, Dr. Wallace received her bachelor’s degree from Vanderbilt University and received her master’s and doctorate degrees in Clinical Psychology from Case Western Reserve University. She completed her pre-doctoral internship at Nationwide Children’s Hospital in Columbus, Ohio and a post-doctoral fellowship at St. Louis Children’s Hospital.
She has worked across many areas of the hospital and has specialized training working within the transplant, hematology/oncology, and Neonatal Intensive Care Unit populations. Her research experience has centered around young children and play, areas she continues to explore as part of the research team at Ranken Jordan.
