Dr. Abby Musial has joined Ranken Jordan Pediatric Bridge Hospital as a new pediatrician and referral liaison. With a strong background in hospital medicine, Musial has led research focusing on the care of children with medical complexity, including issues such as feeding intolerance, polypharmacy, and challenges faced by caregivers and patients after hospital discharge.

Musial joins Ranken Jordan after serving as the medical director of the inpatient complex care team at Cincinnati Children’s Hospital Medical Center, which was recently named No. 1 in the country in U.S. News & World Report’s Best Children’s Hospitals 2023-24 with national rankings across 10 pediatric specialties. Musial brings more than six years of professional experience in pediatric health care and nine years in the industry.

Musial holds a medical degree from the University of Missouri – Kansas City and completed her residency at Children’s Mercy Hospital in Kansas City. She also completed a three-year fellowship in Pediatric Hospital Medicine at Cincinnati Children’s Hospital Medical Center and holds a master’s degree in Clinical and Translational Research from the University of Cincinnati.

In her new role, Musial will work closely with patients, their caregivers, and the interdisciplinary team to develop and implement personalized care plans for children with medical complexity.

“I strongly believe in the importance of involving parents as integral members of the care team,” says Musial. “I’m both excited and eager to collaborate with the referral team, patients’ families, and external institutions to ensure a seamless and safe transition of care for patients coming to Ranken Jordan.”

Musial’s commitment to pediatric care has been recognized through a series of prestigious awards and honors. These include the 2018 Hospital Medicine Award, the Jane F. Knapp, MD Excellence in Pediatric Emergency Medicine Award, and the Edward R. Christophersen, PhD Award, all from Children’s Mercy Hospital.

In 2022, she was also honored with the Hidden Gem Award at Cincinnati Children’s Hospital for her exceptional contributions, cementing her reputation as a standout professional in her field.

“Dr. Musial’s expertise, dedication, and belief that parents are the experts when it comes to their children align closely with Ranken Jordan’s mission,” said Dr. Nick Holekamp, Chief Medical Officer, Ranken Jordan. “Her passion makes her an excellent addition to our team. We are privileged to have her on board.”
