Halloween is a favorite holiday for many children and young adults. Traditions include carefully selecting a pumpkin, carving a perfect face, and scooping out the seeds for a baked salty treat later. Children pour over their costume options for days, even weeks, before finally deciding on just the right disguise. Then they cross their fingers hoping for the weather to cooperate on trick-or-treat night.

On October 5th, 2024, the McLean, Illinois community came together to support the second-annual Helping Henry’s Heroes fundraiser event throughout the downtown square of McLean, IL. As a former patient at Ranken Jordan Pediatric Bridge in St. Louis, MO, Henry – who turned five in July – received invaluable help and support during his toughest times.

Growing up in New York, Dr. Lynda Brady was inspired by a family friend who was a general practitioner. “He had a huge influence on my life, and he really encouraged me to go into medicine,” says Dr. Brady. In middle school, she had landed on the idea of becoming a dentist. “Then around sixth grade, I thought, that’s gross.”
Ranken Jordan Pediatric Bridge Hospital is proud to announce that we have achieved 100% voluntary retention among our registered respiratory therapists (RRTs) for the past year. In comparison, the turnover rate for RRTs across St. Louis is currently 17.2%. This is a significant accomplishment for the hospital that greatly improves the quality of care for the patients we serve.
A growing number of companies are recognizing the importance of corporate social responsibility, and Renaissance Financial is fully on board. Their mission in the community is to ignite positive social change, and they even provide their staff with paid time off to volunteer. When Evan McGinnis, vice president of advisor development, was asked to find a group volunteer activity for his team, he was ready with an opportunity.
In 1995, Rabbi Mark Shook was the senior rabbi at Temple Israel, a neighbor to Ranken Jordan Pediatric Bridge Hospital’s original location on Ladue Road. The organizations had a warm, reciprocal relationship. The Temple allowed Ranken Jordan to use its parking lot, playground and pool, and Ranken Jordan provided hearing and speech screenings for the Temple Israel Nursery School.
August is synonymous with Back-to-School season. Stores buzz with children eagerly picking out the perfect lunchbox and backpack, while parents capitalize on tax-free shopping weekends. Schools come alive with open houses and parent-teacher nights, marking the start of a new academic year.
After Nicole began working as a Ranken Jordan nurse, she shared with her family how much she enjoyed caring for patients, especially on the east unit. Her grandparents, Marie and Al, were delighted to see their granddaughter so happy and wanted to do their part to support.
