Given with heartfelt gratitude on behalf of children, the Mary Ranken Jordan Service to Children Award honors those who selflessly serve Ranken Jordan, the St. Louis community, and by their example, encourage others to do the same. The award also recognizes individuals and organizations demonstrating commitment to the ideals and vision established in 1941 by our founder, Mary Ranken Jordan.

Big River Running Company Selects Ranken Jordan

Big River Running Company selected Ranken Jordan Pediatric Bridge Hospital as its charitable partner for the first half of 2022. “We’ve been around since 2006 and try to be as active and generous as possible in our community,” says Chrissy Fredrikson, director of finances at Big River Running Company. “A few years ago, we launched our charitable action program called ‘Big River Gives Back.’ Through that program we donate 10 percent of sales of all Big River branded merchandise to charities in St. Louis. It’s a great way for our customers to feel like when they shop local, they impact local.”

Ellie Wilson was a typical active toddler at 16 months old. Making Spirits Bright with Santa for Siblings

Each year, Ranken Jordan Pediatric Bridge Hospital partners with Fire Truck O’Toys to host a Santa for Siblings event just for siblings of patients at the hospital. “We are a holistic hospital so we work to support families and siblings as well as patients,” explains Tricia Sievers, the Ranken Jordan volunteer manager who created the annual Santa for Siblings event in 2014. “Family members are often so focused on their child who is a patient that their other children don’t get as much attention. Santa for Siblings is a special time just for siblings so they know they’re appreciated, too.”
