Asher's story is remarkable
Asher was born prematurely at 28 weeks. Born at just two pounds and with a heart defect, Asher was in surgery that very night. In the months following his birth, Asher needed multiple surgeries to repair his heart and other organs. He spent the first few months of his life in an acute care hospital, undergoing and recovering from the many procedures that have given him a chance at life.
His new normal
The seemingly never-ending series of life-threatening surgeries for their baby kept Marissa and Ryan, Asher’s parents, in a constant state of uncertainty. All they wanted was to take Asher home so that someday they could go to the park—outdoors—as a family.
When it came time to leave the hospital, specialists recommended that Asher continue to heal at Ranken Jordan Pediatric Bridge Hospital. Understandably, Marissa and Ryan, expressed concern, but agreed to visit Ranken Jordan to learn more about what we could offer Asher.

Because of you and the gift you choose to make, we are able to offer this care to Asher.
“When we walked through the doors of Ranken Jordan, everything changed. This wasn’t ‘another hospital’ at all. We saw children of all ages—all with serious medical challenges—smiling. We saw color and play. We saw joy. It was then I knew this was the right place for Asher—the best possible place.”
Asher’s spirit is astounding
In just a few short months, Asher’s will to live has astounded his parents and impressed the nurses, doctors and other specialists who care for him.

He participates in speech therapy, physical therapy and occupational therapy. His medical conditions are closely monitored around the clock by our specialized team of caregivers.
Of course, the kind of care Asher requires does have a cost—and it’s steep. But we can offer this care to Asher because of you and the gift you choose to make today to Ranken Jordan – and Asher.
Because of generous donations like yours, Ranken Jordan Pediatric Bridge Hospital is able to give families like Asher’s the greatest gift imaginable. Hope.
